Gomez eye trophies in Florence - Serie A News

Mario Gomez has set his sights on silverware after completing his move to Fiorentina from European champions Bayern Munich.
The Germany international striker has signed a four-year contract with La Viola, having ended a four-year association with Bayern.
Gomez, 28, said on his arrival in Florence: "I am curious about taking on a new challenge after winning everything there was to win with Bayern.

"(Coach) Pep Guardiola was among those who advised me sign for Fiorentina, on account of the great, attacking football played here, which suits me down to the ground.

"I had all I needed at Bayern, but what's more important for me is to play and I can do that here consistently.

"It's my dream to win something here in Italy, even if I haven't set myself a target as regards goals."

Fiorentina finished fourth in Serie A last season and qualified for the Europa League next season.

La Viola are 26.00 to win the Serie A title next season, with Juventus 1.72 and AC Milan 5.00.
