No offers for Soldado, says Valencia chief

Amadeo Salvo says there is no imminent deal for the Spain international and also added his side are not a selling club.
Valencia have received no offers for striker Roberto Soldado, according to the club's president Amadeo Salvo. Soldado, 28, has been linked with a move to the Premier League but Salvo insists any move for him, or Adil Rami and Diego Alves, would come at a cost.

“Valencia will stand firm and we have not received any offers for Roberto Soldado,” Salvo told reporters.

“There will always be players who are linked with a possible exit and when Valencia, who own the players’ rights, decide they will leave then we will not be letting them go for nothing.”

Salvo was also quick to stress his side will be under more pressure to be financially prudent in the coming months.

He added: “The fans are aware we won’t be playing in the Champions League next season and that we have an economic model to follow, so that conditions what we do, but we have to accept there will sometimes be criticism."

This was evident when los Che lost out on the signing of Giovani dos Santos to rivals Villarreal, though Salvo now says his side had no interest in the Mexico international.

“Valencia were not interested in Gio. Therefore, there never was an option for him to play here," he said.
