Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he wants to continue playing for Real Madrid despite speculation about his future.
Cristiano Ronaldo is staying put with Real Madrid this summer. The 28-year-old Portugal international star has been heavily linked with a move back to the England this summer after he admitted that he missed the Premier League.

Manchester United, who sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £85million back in 2009, were favourites to re-sign him, but the player has now spoken of his desire to stay put and will keep on playing for the Spanish giants.

"I enjoy of course to play there [Real Madrid], I play there for four years so I want to continue there," Ronaldo told Sky Sports News.

"It is not the best day to speak about my future. I am going to have time to speak about that at the beginning of pre-season."

The news will be a boost for president Florentino Perez, who has continually stressed that he expects Ronaldo to sign a new contract extension, while describing him as a key player who they want to build a team around.

Carlo Ancelotti, who recently replaced Jose Mourinho as manager at the Santiago Bernabeu, has also spoken out to reveal that Ronaldo is the man to take them forward.

The Italian tactician said: "It's an honour to coach a player like Ronaldo like it was to coach [Zinedine] Zidane.

"Ronaldo was not on the list of players like Brazilian Ronaldo, Zidane and Ronaldinho that I coached.

"He will be on the list of players I coached now and I am so happy for that."

Real Madrid are 2.25 to win the La Liga next season and 6.50 for Champions League glory.
